As a general guideline, the majority of beverage containers ranging from 150 ml to 3l are eligible for a refund under the state’s container deposit scheme. It is essential that the containers are empty, undamaged, and prominently display the 10-cent refund indication on the label, along with the product barcode.
Additionally, lids must be removed from the containers.

Certain beverage containers do not qualify for a refund. Typically, containers less than 150ml and those exceeding 3L are excluded. The following containers are not eligible for refunds:
All sizes of plain milk containers, including plant-based milk alternatives
Cask wine
Containers of 1L or more that held flavoured milk, pure fruit or vegetable juice, cask wine, or cask water
Concentrated or undiluted cordial or syrup containers

Yes, you can certainly bring in any empty wine bottles and spirit bottles for recycling. However, it is important to note that these particular bottles are not eligible for a 10-cent refund that applies to other drink containers.
