The Beginning.
Adelaide Recycling, formerly known as Leo’s Can & Bottle Recycling, has been a cornerstone of the Findon community for over 50 years. The journey began in 1980 when Rob Scali first worked for Arthur Leo Wrigley, the original founder of Leo’s, in the cans and bottles section while still in school.
This early exposure ignited Rob’s passion for recycling and set the foundation for his future in the industry.
A combination of expertise to grow the recycling operation.
In 1987, Rob and Arthur formed a partnership, combining their expertise to grow the recycling operation. Over time, Rob assumed full responsibility for the business, taking the lead in both the recycling depot and the service station Rob’s Fuels.
The Evolution of Rob's Fuels to Adelaide Recycling.
Rob’s deep knowledge and experience in the industry fueled his vision for the business’s future. In 2022, he made the decision to shift the focus solely to recycling, marking a major milestone for the company. Rob’s Fuels was closed and the site underwent a full demolition and rebuild to accommodate a state-of-the-art recycling facility. With this expansion, the business was rebranded as Adelaide Recycling in September 2023 to allow for greater focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Focus on shaping a cleaner, greener future for South Australia.
